Neno Village

Again, the people were waiting for us under a tree.  This group was very official, the village chief was present along with other important people.  This church had a choir of all ages and they sang for us. At that moment we do not understand the language but the harmonising was beautiful and their faces told the story. 

Ps Ezekiel translated and informed us they were singing for the chains of poverty to be broken.  They received our presentation with open arms. Groups were formed and leaders chosen. 

The men and youth were in this group of villagers as well and are excited about what “the hope of africa” suggested and the village is waiting in anticipation for the future with “the hope of africa”

We were invited to have lunch and the village chief joined us. The food was grown by the villagers.  The basic meal consisted of chicken, rice, beans and green leaves (type of marog) and a tomato gravy.

Our journey to malawi was a very humbling experience.  We met with people who love god with a passion.  The children are so open, loving and trusting.  They look to us with big eyes with trust and hope for a better future.

Neno Village

Different ladder of the community and the different churches were represented. They were bold to ask the right questions and would like to be informed and included. They are aware that they have needs; they are also taking the initiative and want to get involved as a community.

There was good music and a lot of dancing.
